What is the danger of AI ?

In my last post, “The world is upside down”, I mentioned that most governments are already using AI. But the public has already gained access to the possibility of using AI in daily use.

What could be the consequence of this?…. As most computer literate people know, it is always a physical person who provides the information to a database! This is referred to as GIGO, (Garbage in garbage out), which means if the age first information says 1+1 is 3, then this will be the basic information.

Nowadays, there are “double checks” that prevent such information. But if we now say that a computer creates an AI computer, which is basically human knowledge, wrong or right (GIGO), can we really trust that AI cannot be manipulated for political influence or financial gain?

Below is an example of a company that started a chat page with AI for general use.

ChatGPT: Optimization of language models for dialogue.
“We have trained a model called ChatGPT that interacts conversationally. The dialog format makes it possible for ChatGPT to answer follow-up questions, admit its mistakes, question incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate requests. ChatGPT is a sister model to InstructGPT , which is trained to follow an instruction in a notice and provide a detailed response.”

“We are excited to introduce ChatGPT to get user feedback and learn about its strengths and weaknesses. During the research preview, the use of ChatGPT is free of charge.”

(Following is a comment from Ariel Conn, Founder and President, Magnitude 10 Consulting)

What is at stake?

“Human intelligence has led to the greatest triumphs of humanity, but it is also behind some of history’s greatest catastrophes. So what happens if we create artificial intelligence (AI) that’s significantly smarter than any person? Will it help us reach even greater heights or will it trigger, as some experts worry, the greatest catastrophe of all: human extinction?

Today’s artificial intelligence systems already outperform humans in the tasks they were trained for, especially when it comes to the speed with which they act. In just a matter of seconds, an AI system can play the winning move in chess or Go, translate an article, or plot a route to a given destination while taking into account current traffic patterns.

Though a human requires more time to do any of these, a key aspect of human intelligence is that we can perform all of these tasks. We have what’s known as general intelligence. While AI systems can only perform the tasks they were trained on, a human can learn from context and experience and develop new skills or solve novel problems.

Many experts worry that if an AI system achieves human-level general intelligence, it will quickly surpass us, just as AI systems have done with their narrow tasks. At that point, we don’t know what the AI will do.

AI risk is still emerging today, but could rapidly accelerate if sudden technological breakthroughs left inadequate time for social and political institutions to adjust risk management mechanisms.”

What will happen, I ask myself?

Are we really going to ignore what is happening? Or are we to believe that the new world will be ruled by AI Presidents (tin cans!), will give us humans a valuable life without work? That all work is performed by robots controlled by AI robots and you will receive a salary statement issued by the AI Department. If you believe this, you have been victimized by the GIGO method, and at the same time convinced by AI…!!?

I will be back, in my own writing soon.

Thanks for reading.
