Gartena is a group of companies dedicated to the development and construction of the next generation of Waste-2-Energy plants. Gartena Holdings Limited is based in the UK. Gartena’s development and engineering team is organized in Gartena Consulting and Installation AB based in Sweden. Gartena also has a sales office in Singapore and Spain.
Gartena was originally formed to capitalize on the Waste-2-Energy experience gained from earlier generations in Sweden and Germany. The work of our current engineers and specialists has been to fully and comprehensively develop these leading designs that Gartena now possesses.
Gartena provides a boost to local economies while freeing the energy trapped in waste. As a result, regions that invest in Gartena’s professional waste management will generate an economically viable waste handling industry bringing increased business opportunities in conjunction with environmental goodwill and energy to their community.
Experience across the globe has demonstrated that the problem of waste management is literally everywhere and, despite the best intentions of politicians and other green groups, they all face difficulties implementing these projects. The consequence of which is that their communities seldom enjoy the economic benefits which such projects can generate.
Gartena endeavours to provide the appropriate guidance and commentary to the relevant governmental authorities who have to deal with the waste management problems they face.
The construction of an Organic Waste Treatment Facility (OWTF), a Sewage Treatment Facility (STF) and an Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) are the key components of Gartena’s vision. They complement each other to produce an integrated waste management system.
A Gartena Waste-2-Energy One Dual Facility (ODF) Plant is central to the goal of a sustainable planet.
The Gartena designed Integrated Waste Management Facility system, with the Patented Rotating Kiln and After-Burning Chamber, will reduce the amount of waste (residual ashes) to be sent to landfill to nearly zero.
Old waste in the existing landfills can be used in the Gartena IWMF system to produce Electricity and Water. As a consequence, the lifespan of a landfill site can be increased greatly. Eventually, some of the landfill areas could be closed and the land put back into productive use.
Our vision is a waste free environment where waste is used to create affordable energy and clean water without emitting pollutions or unusable secondary waste.
Gartena, Our History.
In 1969 Ing. W.E. Wiedermann, Klaus Gärtner and Ulrich Lork met in Hamburg, Germany, to discuss the idea of how to incinerate domestic waste in an efficient and environmental acceptable manner. This was a gigantic problem within Europe, which continues unresolved to this day.
