“Through Storms and Serenity: My Journey to Manila, Philippines”

When we left Australia behind us, i already felt like going back again to the lovely and friendly people who made me feel at home….This journey, that just begun, was going to take us close to Papua New Guineas coast with many islands surrounding with astonishing form’s .

Our next port to enter will be, Manila the capital of the Philippines. I never been there before, but two of my mates on board of M/s Broland are Philippines and they told me that they’ll show me around.

They already introduced me to Tagalo, the official language on most islands, but where many also are speaking English and a variant of Spanish. That made me feel good, at least I could communicate with the people.

(The Philippines, is an archipelago and consist of about 7,600 islands and the capital Manila is situated in the north part.)

This voyage was very smooth, with plenty time to enjoy the fantastic views of exotics islands. Leaving Papua New Guineabehind us, we passed Borneo on our portside and started to enter in the 1000th of islands in the archipelago of the Philippines. Manila is situated at one of the northern islands, so whe had plenty to see.

Our cruising speed was only about 12 knots, and it took us over 24 hours to reach the capital Manila and entered at the quay early in the morning.

Immediately we were surrounded by barges to be used for unloading our cargo. The workers climbed up over the railing and started within minutes to unload, amazing sight.

I asked for a day off, together with my Philippine friends, and we started the day with a coffee at the first bar outside the port.

The town was busy with cars, lorries and motorbikes crossing all over the streets, seemly without any order. But all went very smoothly, without incidences. My friends took me to the house where a family member lived. I was invited for a homecooked meal, Kare-Kare.

This rich stew is made with peanut sauce and oxtail. The plate came with a serving of “Bagoong”, a fermented seafood pastes on the side! Sounds strange but it was delicate.

We left the family after lunch, and after knowing the family for such a short time, it felt like I had become a family member. They welcomed me back and I gave them a big hug.

Back to the busy street life and visits to small bars, where I for the first time tasted the local beer San Miguel. (Later known as a “Spanish beer”, but the origin was from Manila!)

Also, another surprise, at a street corner, a poster was announcing the arrival of The Beatles!! But next coming year, July 4, 1966, sadly for us.

Later in the evening we were recommended to go to a large restaurant that served Filipino dishes, as the famous lechon.  It is hard to top such a tasty, fully roasted pig with perfectly crisp skin and juicy meat. (Nam-Nam).

Lechon - Wikipedia

It was a busy long day and by midnight we returned onboard our M/s Broland. The day after was working-day and one day later we left the port of Manila to head for Kobe, Japan.

Just a few days later we received the news regarding the harrowing stories from the, Taal Island of Philippines where a Volcano eruption had taken place. Only 50 km from Manila and just the day after our stay there. More than 1500 people had been killed.

I will be back from a “safe” place.

Do not be afraid to make mistakes.

”As a sailor I learned to know many counties with different cultures and political systems. The year 1965, in the port of Valparaiso I had my first confrontation with an authority. It all started with a horrible experience!

I was jailed by the Carabineers (Chilean military police), under charge of the Senator Allende. This happened when I was passing the border control in the port and was accused of smuggling “high tec” private goods, like photo equipment, transistor radios and digital watches, all with origin of Japan.

I told them that it was all for personal use, but they were not listening! The only answer I got was that I had a long jail sentence waiting if I did not pay a “fine” of 3000.USD and all my personal belonging confiscated. First this came as a shock to me as I had planned my trip to Argentina over the mountains of Los Andes.

But my fear changed into anger and I demanded the officer in charge to call the Swedish embassy in Santiago de Chile. At first, he was laughing at me, but a few days later he made the call. I had to stay 5 days and nights before I was released and later escorted to the Argentine border. I was finally free to travel across Los Andes!”

I had made the mistake to not declare that I had all these personal belonging in my luggage’s!

But I had courage to let my fear off, if not I would had lost all of it.

Mistakes give you experience. If you are afraid of failure you will only make more mistakes! Learning by mistakes can be expensive, but it can also be worth it. I still make mistakes, but I will never stop learning.

Life is like a ladder; you must go up and down many times to reach your goals. It is not a shame to be afraid, but you must control the situations to overcome your fears. Examine why you were afraid, and you will overcome it.

Have a good day,

James Web Telescope, amazing!

Article by Interesting Engineering, Inc. 2022.

When Is It Going To Send Its First Image?

The telescope will align its mirrors before moving to its final destination.

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has just completed its most critical task, unfolding its 21 feet (6.5 m) wide concave-shaped, gold-plated primary mirror on Saturday, 14 days after its long-delayed launch on December 25th, NASA announced in a press release.

The Webb mission, a joint effort with the European Space Agency (ESA) and Canadian Space Agency, will observe lightyears into the past, from within our solar system to the most distant observable galaxies in the early universe.

First image will be seen by this summer!

Is the world complying with Cop26?

The Glasgow conference center.

Every year a huge conference called COP is organized somewhere in the world and 10-20.000 people are traveling by airplane to be there. Hotels are overbooked and convention halls full.

Many of this people are there only to enjoy this event, to later make a few statements.

At COP26 a statement was made unilateral to reach new measurements by 2030, this was later ratified to year 2040….!? They had not calculated the enormous cost and who should pay for it. Another year past, without concrete results. What are the real costs of this show? We will never find out!

Goals where made:

  1. Secure global net zero by mid-century and keep 1.5 degrees within reach.
  2. Adapt to protect communities and natural habitats.
  3. Mobilize finance.
  4. Work together to deliver.

Fantastic achievement…!? with almost 30.000 delegates working together….?

Do you hear any comments from your governments how these goals will be accomplished?

Private inventors and large companies are struggling to find solutions that the politics, cannot achieve.

An excellent example on private achievement is the founder of the company Biomason, Ginger Krieg Dosier.

BIOMASON is a unique biotechnology start-up manufacturing company with a natural process that will revolutionize the building and construction industry, by using natural microorganisms to manufacture biological cement-based masonry building materials. The company mission is, to replace traditional methods for manufacturing concrete and fired clay materials by growing ex-situ cement products using clean bio-chemical processes in ambient temperatures; without compromising the natural environment.

This is constructive thinking! All private ideas should be rewarded by COP, not the politicians.

Sadly, to say, most small investors/companies, will never be able to finish their inventions for the lack of funds, that could have been created by governments and COP itself. The world could be a better place to live in, if the bureaucrats woke up!

I have my own experience after inventing an oil decontamination vessel and a horizontal wind turbine in the 80’s, which have never been produced. But that’s life, be happy!

I will be back soon with some news regarding our planet Earth (Tellus).

CHINESE NEW YEAR, #2022, a new #TimeZone, IS COMING SOON!

Preparations for the new year begin on January 24th, and last until February 1st 2022 when the New Year of the TIGER begins.

Tigers are the third of the Chinese zodiacs. According to legend, Tiger was confident that no one could compete with its speed and vigor for the celestial race that would decide the order of the zodiacs. However, when Tiger climbed out of the river, thinking it was first, it was informed that Rat (I am a Rat) placed first for its cunning and Ox placed second for its diligence. This left the king of the jungle having to settle for third place.

Many well-known persons are born under the sign of the strong Tiger,

Queen Elisabeth, Charles de Gaulle, and Marilyn Monroe are some examples of people that has the strong Caracter of the Tiger.

People born in years of the Tiger are fiercely independent and possess strong self-esteem. They like to act alone and are not very gregarious. They are most likely optimistic and enthusiastic by nature, and always seem to have endless energy, especially at work. Their energetic presence and intense eyes are the greatest charm of Tiger natives. Their vitality is apparent to anyone at a glance, and people are instinctively drawn to this larger-than-life quality in them.

Tigers are courageous and authoritative, although they have a cute and charming side as well to those who know them more intimately. Their ambitions run sky-high, however, and Tigers will never treat them as pipe dreams. They are adventurers with the courage to be a pioneer in the line of work they choose. They work tirelessly to realize their dream of changing the world in some way, one step at a time.

Tigers never mince their words, but always speak forthrightly and boldly. They are honest and judicious, almost chivalrous in a way that does not seem to fit the modern world. This quality makes them natural leaders that others gravitate toward. They have a strong sense of responsibility and will always keep their word and uphold their obligations.

Tigers can be very rebellious, often too self-confident to want to coordinate or communicate with others. That frequently leaves them lonely. They may find themselves isolated at work or in the community. They can be dictators with potential love interests and unable to create a happy family life. Likewise, they may have a lot of acquaintances or professional contacts, but may not have any real friends. No one likes too always be alone. That is a fact that the proud Tiger has to learn to accept in themselves.

Unfortunately, the years of the Tigre are notoriously turbulent with political unrest, coups and catastrophes.

I wish you all a good Tigre Year, 2022.

Should we believe in God or just have faith?

I have read the Old Testament and found it very interesting, as it was written by vise men who told story’s the way they interpreted the situation in the years B.C.

I am very impressed by the prophet Ezekiel (600 BC), and the way he explains strange happenings, but he never really talked about God. He believed in what he saw and experienced, with a very realistic way of writing about his visions.

Other prophets predicted what could happen soon, like today’s scientists.

I believe that Jesus was born year Cero! But later existed as a modern speaker of positive thinking and believing, as so many these days. With faith, you can make a man walk from his sickbed. With Today’s Medical knowledge, this is also possible.

Believing in God is totally different!

Everybody has faith in something that gives peace of mind. This can be a thing like the Sun, a Stone, the Moon, a Three or a Figure that you believe can change your life in a positive way.

James Web, believe in his Mega Telescope! He has faith that it can find the birth of Universe, far from what you can read in the Bible.

Others believe in Mother Nature, that all has its origin in the Sun!

I believe in the Universe, where I was born, where will live during my lifetime and later die, nobody will be able to change my #TimeZone! “Thanks God”!

I will be back next year 2020, happy landing!

Windmush, Curt.

Your #TimeZone 2022.

It all started when you were born!

You came out of your “Zero Zone”! The life had begun, without having an idea about what you were going to experience.

From this day the daily time routine started, eat, sleep, play, eat, sleep, play …. etc.

While growing up, things happened so fast and without being able to stop the time.

Later, thinking back, you wished that the time could have been slowed down and being able to improve your lost time as young.

“Once I asked a good friend of mine if he knew what a Time Zone meant to him. He turned to me with a surprised look and told me, GMT+1 and when working in New York – 6 hours/CET.”

This is an answer you expect from a person that travel a lot and works in different geographic time zones.

But my way of describing Your Time-Zone, is different!

When you snap a finger, one second past and you will never be able to recover it again. It is Gone!

Your Time-Zones are, present, past, and future!

The history books learn you about the eras geological as, the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic eras. But you can also read about the birth of Universe how it all started with a Bang and that it is still expanding. All this is hard to understand, but it is all about Time-Zones!

#Energy is becoming a Big Business.

#Worldupdates#NewYorkTimes
Europe’s energy crunch continues with rising prices.
Spain is covering up the real reason to the high price of electricity.
The Spanish goverment in Madrid, never mention the deal made with the Marocco goverment! A clean energy source from a giant sun energy plant in the Marocco dessert will supply Spain with over 70% of total energy used in the country! Do not blame Russia!! Marocco will win the energy race….

Europe’s energy crunch shows little sign of easing. Supplies of natural gas are tight, and traders doubt the continent has enough of the fuel stored to last a cold winter without disruption. In a worst-case scenario, analysts say blackouts are possible, and factories may be ordered to cut their gas use to ensure households can stay warm.
Low volumes of gas from Russia have helped raise prices in recent months, while tensions over Ukraine make it very unlikely that the giant Nord Stream 2 pipeline from Russia to Germany will open anytime soon and bring relief.
The high gas prices of recent months will eventually lead to rises in energy costs for households in Britain and other countries. Analysts forecast that British consumers, who have been protected by price ceilings, could see their energy bills rise more than 50 percent when adjustments are announced early next year.
By the numbers: European natural gas prices have doubled this month and are roughly 15 times what gas is selling for in the U.S. Electrical power prices are also soaring: In Britain, steady power was trading on Tuesday for about 340 pounds, about $450, per megawatt-hour — about three times the average price of electricity over the year.
Inflation woes: A record annual increase in prices, of 4.9 percent in the eurozone last month, is affecting businesses, factories and consumers — right down to Money rules the Energy market!.
