Bacteria with antibiotic resistant genes discovered in Antarctica

“SANTIAGO, May 25 (Reuters) – Bacteria in Antarctica have been discovered with genes that give them natural antibiotic and antimicrobial resistance and have the potential to spread out of the polar regions, according to scientists in Chile.

Andres Marcoleta, a researcher from the University of Chile who headed the study published in the Science of the Total Environment journal in March, said that these “superpowers” which evolved to resist extreme conditions are contained in mobile DNA fragments that can easily be transferred to other bacteria.

We know that the soils of the Antarctic Peninsula, one of the polar areas most impacted by melting ice, host a great diversity of bacteria,” Marcoleta said. “And that some of them constitute a potential source of ancestral genes that confer resistance to antibiotics.”

(Under the ice, the continent Antarctic exist.)

Other researchers stated that every time they drilled a hole in Antarctica, it was teeming with microbes. They affirm with certainty that there’s no reason to believe that bacteria aren’t consuming nutrients in the groundwater as well. When one has microbial ecosystems that have been cut off for long periods of time—in this case, seawater was likely deposited there 5,000–10,000 years ago—the researchers begin to get a very good idea of how life might survive on other planets trapped beneath thick ice.

So, what do we have to expect from these discoveries? Can new unknown bacteria spread to other continents nearby, like Australia, Africa, and South America? Are we prepared for another germ attack?

All this will probably take some time before it will happen, but if the magnetic poles keep moving with the speed of today, it may not be so long before we will have a drastic change of climate on earth.

It has shown lately in the northern Europe, that the midnight sun in summer is being seen further south then before. This can be the result of the magnetic fields that started to affect the sunbeams and have the results of changing the geographic north and south poles placement.

But all this are questions that governments will keep secrets until something occurs.

Just keep on with your good and happy life, the less you know the better…..

Why “Climate-hunters” do not want to discuss sunspots.

Sunspots and Solar Flares | NASA Space Place – NASA Science for Kids
Sunspots, photo NASA.

Year after year, leaders from the world attends climate conferences, but I have never heard any alert regarding the danger of high sunspots activities.

Can it be a religious matter? In early days when the Christian crusades tried to take over the world, they met many sun-worshiping groups of people, who believed in the sun as a god. This was not be accepted by the Christians, so they started to kill the leaders of these groups. Sometimes by cutting their head off!

Personally, I am glad that I did not live then, nowadays you may only be cut off by Facebook or Twitter, for your opinion.

I started to study the movements of the magnetic poles in the early 70ths, and was situated in the northern part of Canada, more exactly around Queen Elisabeth’s islands. Since then, it has been moving with an average of 45 km per year and now situated close to Siberia! This because of the power from the suns own magnetic fields. I am not an expert, but how much influence have our sun made during this period, in the climate change theories?

Almost every day, with the right equipment, you can see large, dark patches that cover parts of the sun’s surface. These dark patches are called sunspots. They are slightly cooler patches of the surface of the sun that expand and contract as they move. It may not seem important to understand sunspots, but they can have a huge effect on our current climate, as well as the future of our world.

The sun has the largest effect on the climate that we enjoy on Earth. Without it there would be no light, resulting in no growth, since our climate largely relies on the sun to provide the energy needed for photosynthesis. Sunspots were first noticed to affect the Earth when scientists realized that increased activity with sunspots creates increased interference with magnetic instruments on the surface of the earth.

“As scientists have looked further into this phenomenon, they noticed that near the sunspot, hotter areas of the sun would react with the magnetic field outside the sunspot and create a solar flare. Solar flares project a host of things, including x-rays and energy particles rushing toward the Earth’s atmosphere in the form of a geomagnetic storm.”

What happens when there are few sunspots visible from earth?                                             During the period from 1645 to 1715, the Sun entered a period of low activity now known as the Maunder Minimum, when the Sun displayed very few, or if any sunspots. Models of the Sun’s irradiance suggest that the solar energy input to the Earth decreased during that time and this change in solar activity could explain the low temperatures recorded in Europe during what now is known as, the Little Ice Age.

I welcome your opinions.

The vision for the future, is in our #Timezones.

Laws of Nature are to be distinguished both from Scientific Laws and from Natural Laws. Neither Natural Laws, as invoked in legal or ethical theories, nor Scientific Laws, which some researchers consider to be scientists’ attempts to state or approximate the Laws of Nature, Instead, it explores issues in contemporary metaphysics.

The nature should be left as it was……..

Mother Earth divided the globe in Zones! But we the” modern” human race does not respect the law of nature.

For only 500 years ago, all-natural Zones were intact!

Here are some examples.

  • The rice was only grown in Asia.
  • The potato could only be found in South America.
  • The tropical fruits did not grow in Europe.
  • The different tree’s used for timber and building grew in its own environment.
  • The Maize cobs was only grown by the Aztecans and Mayas in Mexico.
  • The cane sugar came from India.
  • The coffee was only used in Ethiopia, where it originated and was causally related to religious practices.

All these plants and trees were only used in its origin environment but are now used as economic interests.

So, what has all this to do with Time-Zones?

The fact that humanity has changed the whole environmental system mostly for economic reasons. The natural zones are mostly gone, for god or bad. The worlds Time-Zones have not been respected by the population. Take Africa as an example. This continent with its natural resources is the riches continent in the world. But why is the poverty so widespread? The economic greed by other countries is almost” pumping” out all that has values. In other continents whole cultural heritages have been destroyed.

How will the future Time-Zones look like in another 100 years from now? This cannot be answered by anyone on this Earth. We should not only blame the climate change! One way to improve the global situation can be an overall agreement to give back all regions the rights to their natural resources to strength the economy. Similar to the system of rights and royalties for Music, Books and Patents! Many of those rights has been stolen!

“It is often claimed that “there is nothing more outdated than science fiction.” Indeed, history is awash with speculation on future ways of living, as futurists imagine how advancements in technology, trends, and social norms could alter how we live, and what we live in. The period between 1958 and 1963 could be described as “The Golden Age. Some of this era’s wildest ideas centered on how the houses of the future would look.”

This can be a natural way to go back” in time and recover the environmental balance in the world and at the same moment solve a large part of the overpopulated areas.

All this has to do with the understanding of Time-Zones on our Globe. Some people are looking for another planet to live on! That is to run away from the reality in the World that you are living in.

Remember that our Mother Earth will still be here long after that we are gone! You are only one of Billions…..

Manage your Time-Zone wisely while you still can!

Who cares about our beautiful butterflies?

Some butterflies, including the monarch, have been on the verge of extinction. But the efforts of conservationists to protect them may now be showing positive results, in California USA.

Large cities and towns have for many years been pressured for environmental reasons to create more and larger green areas for the population, in many cases influenced by environmental activists!

This mean that mechanical equipment such as lawnmowers and trimmers has been drastically increased. Unfortunately, petrol-powered equipment is mainly used, which has contributed to a sharp reduction in insects, including butterflies. Exhaust gases from these machines are directly killing many insects, which also causes a chain reaction in the ecological system.

Petrol Grass Cutting Machines Best Sale, UP TO 68% OFF | www.aramanatural.es

Many insects that live in grassy areas, spread pollen from flowers and are also food for small birds, this is a natural passage, which has been disturbed by pollution. A simple solution to this problem can be to use only electrically powered appliances and vehicles, in addition, these have a much lower noise level which also affects nature . This is one positive result that has been seen in California after the public has responded.

How can we now influence politicians to think in this way to improve a small but so significant part of nature? It is not just the heavy #COP decisions that are important for our earth.

It’s not over yet – COVID jet lag still exist.

Number of firms in critical financial distress after Covid.

A growing number of world businesses are at risk of going under, as costs spiral and Covid loan repayments come due. Loan repayment schedules should be extended to ease the pressure, but now the banks and goverments can not keep up with financial aid.

Although Covid restrictions have been lifted, some firms are still feeling the impact of disruptions to supply chains and the price of energy and other inputs have risen sharply.

Firms are finding it hard to recruit staff in some sectors, and wage costs, including the minimum wage and National Insurance payments, have gone up.

During the acute phase of the pandemic many firms relied on state support. But that support was now gone while firms were now facing a perfect storm of rising wage, energy and borrowing costs.

Only last year, many economists were expecting 2022 to be a period of strong economic rebound. Businesses would return to full operation post-Covid. Consumers would be free to splash their accumulated savings on all the holidays and activities they had not been able to do during the pandemic. It would be a new “roaring twenties,” some said, in reference to the decade of consumerism that followed the 1918-21 Spanish flu.

Unfortunately, small and large companies will now be able to fend for themselves. Authorities will turn their backs on all aid and the result will be bankruptcies and the closure of many companies. Despite this information, governments are spreading promises of economic recovery, despite all the problems that remain to be solved.

After all, the only thing to do is to take new steps and to solve your future yourself through a positive attitude. Good Luck !

The More You Know, The More You Know You Don’t Know

A Year in Review of 0-days Used In-the-Wild in 2021

Posted by Maddie Stone, Google Project Zero

This is our third annual year in review of 0-days exploited in-the-wild [20202019]. Each year we’ve looked back at all of the detected and disclosed in-the-wild 0-days as a group and synthesized what we think the trends and takeaways are. The goal of this report is not to detail each individual exploit, but instead to analyze the exploits from the year as a group, looking for trends, gaps, lessons learned, successes, etc. If you’re interested in the analysis of individual exploits, please check out our root cause analysis repository.

We perform and share this analysis in order to make 0-day hard. We want it to be more costly, more resource intensive, and overall more difficult for attackers to use 0-day capabilities. 2021 highlighted just how important it is to stay relentless in our pursuit to make it harder for attackers to exploit users with 0-days. We heard over and over and over about how governments were targeting journalists, minoritized populations, politicians, human rights defenders, and even security researchers around the world. The decisions we make in the security and tech communities can have real impacts on society and our fellow humans’ lives.

We’ll provide our evidence and process for our conclusions in the body of this post, and then wrap it all up with our thoughts on next steps and hopes for 2022 in the conclusion. If digging into the bits and bytes is not your thing, then feel free to just check-out the Executive Summary and Conclusion.

The definition of Time-Zones, and how to understand.

(Picks from my book, Power your Timezone)

Add something more to your life…it will pay off in the end!
“Thomas Alva Edison failed more than 1000 times, before
he finally invented the light bulb! He added something
more to reach success!”

Your success can depend on your definition of the Time-Zone,

but remember to share with others, if you don´t….
you may be keeping a secret without reaching your result!
Your time at earth has unfortunately a limited time, let’s
say a maximum of 100 years (My grandma reached 102!)
This “100 years” are first divided in blocks as I showed
you in an earlier page. In every block of your life, you can
control how to use your time in your favor. Unless the
first 10 years of your life, when it all depends on your
parents.

If you find that your body and brain work best between
6.00 pm until noon, this is your Time-Zone!

Now you can use this valuable time to do things that you feel
comfortable to do!
It can be for your health and family, or to work with your
investments on the stock exchange. You must use this
time the best possible way to reach your results. You
must be in control of your Time-Zone!
Maybe your Time-Zone are at night? In that case use it as
your most productive time.
You can also split your hours during the day into zones,
with amounts of hours that you use for your family, work,
health, friends, and sleep. Always using your most
effective time the way that feel comfortably.

Another Time-Zone can be planned in years. For example,
you decide to use 3 whole years for a new project. Or use
a year to study something that earlier not been able to.
You can set one of your goals to retire at 50 and
thereafter start your Time-Zone as a pensioner. But
before that you must control your time to be able to
accomplish your goal. It depends on yourself how
effective you are in your Time-Zones!
Your mind-Your decision!

What is,”Air Plankton” and how it can affects us.

The air is teeming with small creatures.

Most of them are harmless, but there are also those that can spread infections or other diseases that can be dangerous to humanity.
But in some cases, the winds are crucial for the survival of species and their reproduction.

Researchers are now struggling to find out more about how “air plankton” affects us and the ecosystem.

The currents in the wind bring microorganisms to new places and help maintain the earth’s ecosystem. A sand cloud from the Sahara can carry organisms hundreds of kilometers. This happened recently in Spain, with a strong sandstorm from the African desert covered almost the whole country, but warnings were never issued.

Even small dust particles carry microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses with the wind. In some cases, they can cause illness, although it is uncommon.

Atmospheric sampling suggests that there is an appreciable biological load at least up and into the bottom of Earth’s stratosphere at around 7 kilometers altitude at polar regions all the way up to about 20 kilometers at the equator, with seasonal variation.

All this does not mean that the air is dangerous to breathe, in normal cases, but more knowledge should be spread about this. After we have now used face masks under Covid19, we should continue to have these available in the event of any future “pollution” of the air.

With the wish for good health to all my readers, I will return soon.

#Believe, is the most powerful tool.

To Believe, is the most powerful tool in the world, if you use it right.

You can have faith in something, but if you do not believe, it may be worthless.

The power of believing has created great landmarks in the world.

I do not have much faith in religions, but I am fascinated about how people used the power of believing to create all the churches, temples, pyramids, and other religious constructions around the world, because of the faith in something. Many of these monuments are of incredible construction as well as works of art.

The skills used to create all these buildings could not have been used if they did not believe in their tasks.

“You can if you think you can,” is a phrase used by many professional motivators, but you still need to believe to make it happen!

I used to say;” If you do not believe that you can make it, you are damned right!”

Knowledge and believing is an excellent combination. You must know how to build an arch so that it holds and then believe that you can walk over it. This will create trust in what you believe.

The most important of believing is to trust yourself!

Your trust can be supported by your faith to a religious belief, or something else that gives you the strength of doing what you believe.

I remember when the first Russian Sputnik1 was launched in October 1957. To me this was an exciting happening, but most adults that did not believe in it. But later the same year when Sputnik2 with the dog Laika was launched into space, people had received knowledge, and therefore started to believe something that before was impossible.

After this, nothing seemed to be impossible!

Confidence in a new space age was created, by believing.

You are who you are, but do not let anybody tell you what you are!

If you believe you can fly, learn how to! The knowledge exists.

To believe in unknown things will take a long time to find out if you really can make it happen. You need to believe and have faith in yourself.

I always remember people like Michelangelo and Einstein whose ideas today are reality, they believed in things that what was impossible at the time.

The power of believing can make your day!

Why Should we believe in #Donate to #Charity?

Every year, people in the West donate tons of used clothes to poor countries. But a large part of the clothes is in such poor condition that they end up directly in the dump or are thrown in nature.

At the Katmandu market in Ghana’s capital Accra, clothes that has been donated from all over the world are sold at the free market!

It is a common misconception that all donated clothes are donated to poor people. Most charities charge a fee when the clothes arrive here in Ghana, later they are sold per kilo!

Many of the clothes are sorted out even before they come to the market. It’s about so-called fast fashion garments that do not last for more than a couple of washes. An estimated 40 percent end up in the landfill. Behind the market, the fires are constantly burning. These are the clothes that no one wants to buy.

“It was better quality before, but now a lot of the clothes are in very poor condition. We throw them away and burn them”, a saleswoman has told me when contacting me, here at Windmush.com

The dumps are full and it’s almost just clothes. It has become a huge environmental problem, as much of the clothes end up dumped in the sea, for the lack of space.

Several African countries have wanted to ban the import of second-hand clothes because it knocks out the domestic textile industry. But in Ghana, thousands of people live on the sale of second-hand clothes.

An estimated 15 million garments come to Ghana every week. This is a lot considering that the population is just over 30 million.

“We don’t want to be drown in bad clothes; it is not the case that we want the West to stop donating. But please, dump your stained and broken clothes somewhere else.”                        The saleswoman that I learned know, told me.

Unfortunately, the donating of money is even a bigger problem!

In time of crisis, we are told by ads in many types of media, or even by our government, to donate cash to an organization. The sad true are that only 10-15 % of the donated capital will reach its meant destination costs! The other part (85-90%) is “overhead costs”, like commissions and payments to “free workers”.

Donating has become a big business!
